Hyderabad: Man who slit wife's throat earlier this month nabbed

The murder weapon and a blood-stained shirt was seized from him.

Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police arrested a 28-year-old man on Sunday evening for murdering his wife by slitting her throat at their residence on September 18. 

The murder weapon and a blood-stained shirt was seized from him.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Shiraz Anwar, 28, allegedly murdered his wife, Aseema Begum, following a heated argument regarding property which was on her name. 

“After taking Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and 20 tola gold, from his wife, Siraj picked up a fight with her and his in-laws to change a flat worth Rs 50 lakh on his name. He later killed her in a fit of rage,” West Zone DCP A.R. Srinivas, said. 

According to the police, Shiraz, who works as a welder in Sanathnagar, married Aseema, 19, one-and-a-half-years back. 

Shiraz was apprehended on Sunday evening near ESI Hospital of Erragadda and interrogated.  He reportedly confessed to committing the murder.
