Hyderabad: Two persons who were booked on charges of domestic violence and dowry harassment at Neredmet and Saroornagar were convicted by various courts on Friday.

At Neredmet, a case was registered against K. Ankama Rao Goud, after his wife Kavitha complaint in 2013 that he used to harass her physically and mentally demanding additional dowry.
The Twentieth Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Malkajgiri has conducted a trial and convicted the accused on Monday.
The court directed Anakama Rao Goud to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and pay Rs 5,000 towards penalty.
In another incident at Saroornagar, one Sai Krishna who married Sandhya took Rs 6 lakh as dowry and started harassing her one month after marriage for additional dowry.
He also threatened her against giving birth to a female child and kicked her out of the house.
A case was registered against the accused under Sections 498 A and 506 of IPC, and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act in 2013.
The Fourteenth Metropolitan Magistrate Court at LB Nagar on Monday issued orders convicting the accused and directed him to undergo imprisonment for one year and pay Rs 2,000 as fine.
