Bengaluru: Teacher held for sexually harassing student

The Cyberabad police has arrested the accused and he has confessed to not ever being a Wells Fargo employee.

Bengaluru: A 35-year-old madrasa teacher was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 12-year-old male student in Talaghattapura police limits. The accused teacher, Mohammed Abdul Zuber, is a resident of Shivajinagar. According to the complaint, Zuber was sexually abusing the student for the last one year and threatened him to not to reveal it to anyone.

The police said that Zuber was working as a teacher at a madrasa in Avalahalli for the last four years and stayed at the same madrasa for the last three years. He recently rented a house in Shivajinagar where he used to take the victim, a resident of KS Layout, and a sexually abuse him. A few days ago, the victim opened up about the sexual abuse to his parents. “That day the victim went home late and sat in a corner without talking to anyone. His parents questioned him about his abnormal behaviour. When insisted, he narrated the ordeal, and later, his parents lodged a complaint against the teacher,” the police said.

The teacher is said to have lured the victim with money, fruits and sweets, the police said. However, Zuber kept denying the allegations, saying he was innocent and did not do anything wrong with any student. 

A case under sections of POCSO has been booked and Zuber has been arrested. He was produced before the court which remanded him to judicial custody.
