Hyderabad: Excise arrests 5 students for drug peddling
When questioned further, they revealed three accomplices who supplied the contraband to them.
Hyderabad: In a bust on Monday, excise department sleuths caught five students for peddling drugs and seized 3.01 kg of ganja.
Reportedly, the students, who were smuggling the ganja from Vizag agency area, supply the contraband to the students in the city.
On a tip-off, excise cops intercepted a two-wheeler at Prem Nagar, Erragadda, Pillar No. A960 and nabbed two 22-year-old — C. Nagaraju and Ch. Srikanth — with 1.296 kilos of dry ganja in their possession.
When questioned further, they revealed three accomplices who supplied the contraband to them.
N. Anjireddy, assistant excise superintendent, enforcement, said, “We immediately rushed to the spot and nabbed the three at KPHB Colony and seized 1.764 kg of dry ganja. These group of addicts supply Ganja in the city. They are smuggling it from the Araku region and selling it to customers. The customers of ganja are being identified through mobile phones.”
