Woman Maoist Idumamma surrenders

KAKINADA: CPI Maoist Charla-Sabari area committee member Madakam Idumamma alias Idimi alias Latha (22) surrendered before East Godavari SP M.Ravindranath Babu here on Saturday.

Attracted by the speeches of Sabari local operation squad members Sunil and Tulasi, she  joined the party in 2016 June and received seven-day training. Later, she met the Maoist state committee member Azad (BKEG DVC secretary) and he gave her .303 rifle and appointed her into Sabari LOS dal member. Later she was transferred to Charla LOS.

After four years, she was appointed as Sabari LOS deputy commander and worked under the cadre for one year.

Ravindranath Babu said that the woman was disillusioned by the Maoist ideology and also faced discrimination of tribal people by the non-tribal Maoists.

She also alleged that Maoist members had to wash clothes of the top leaders and perform their personal works. She noticed that Maoist leaders lured ‘Guithi Koyas’’  with their innocence.

The SP said that the woman Maoist had also said that she was attracted by the development works and Parivarthana programmes taken up by the government in agency areas.

He appreciated the works of Chinturu additional SP G.Krishna Kanth, circle inspector G.Yuva Kumar, Chinturu sub-inspector B.Yadagiri, additional SP (admin and incharge) K. Kumar, additional SP (AR) B. Satyanarayana and special branch DSP M. Ambika Prasad.
