Isolated, didn't talk to neighbours: Cops
Special teams formed to crack double murder.
Bengaluru: A day after an elderly couple was found murdered at their residence on Coles Road in Pulikeshinagar, the police on Monday formed special teams to crack the case. Teams of police officials from different police stations of East division were pooled in to work on the case. One team visited the spot and collected CCTV footage from different establishments in the area to identify any suspicious individuals and activity, while another team collected information about the couple by taking statement of the tenants who are living in the three-storey building. The couple was found murdered on Sunday, nearly three days after Parvatharaju and Chandrakala were murdered.
Top police officials said that Parvatharaju was not talking to one of his brothers and the couple did not have good relationship with other members of the family. The couple, who were residing on the third floor of the building, preferred to stay in and rarely used to interact with people. The police are now pinning their hopes on the couple’s only son Kiran, a software engineer who is working in the United States, as his statement could throw some light on the people who were hostile to his parents. He is expected to arrive in the city on Tuesday.
“It appears to be a murder for vengeance as there were multiple stab injuries on the bodies. While the 61-year-old Parvatharaju’s body had over 22 stab injuries, Chandrakala’s body had three deep stab injuries. Teams are also questioning people to whom Parvatharaju had given loans. We are probing all the angles,” said a senior police officer. A man, who is involved in two murder cases in K.G.Halli and Commercial Street police limits, was questioned by the East division police in connection with the murders.
