Hyderabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested the assistant director of handlooms and textiles in Siddipet for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for rendering official favours.

According to ACB officials, the assistant director Keerthy Venkataramana was caught red-handed when he was accepting bribe from the complainant K. Ramakrishna, president of handlooms weavers co-operative society, Armoor of Nizamabad for the release of the state share of marketing incentive to handloom weavers and issuing a cheque for Rs 3. 94 lakh. The accused has been shifted to judicial remand.
