Hyderabad: The Gopalapuram police on Monday arrested a habitual vehicle thief and recovered two stolen bikes from him. Pinnoji Jagadish was moving in a suspicious manner near Reliance Digital shop on SD Road.
“He was taken into custody. During interrogation, he confessed to the theft of two bikes.
An auto driver and resident of Amberpet, he was earlier involved in 11 vehicle theft cases and had been arrested, DCP, North Zone, Chandana Deepti said. This apart, a thief moving suspiciously near Secunderabad railway station was detained by Gopalpuram police.
A gold chain and two bangles, together weighing 100 grams and worth Rs 2,00,000 were recovered from him. The accused, Maskani Vinith, too was an auto driver and a native of Mahabubnagar.
On April 14, he had stolen a bag of Dr Neelama who travelled by the auto. The gold seized was worth Rs 2 lakh,'' police said.
