Miyapur cops in the soup for taking bribe

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Miyapur head constable Dande Venkat Reddy while he was collecting a bribe of ₹20,000 from a businessman to help him in a case. He was collecting the money on the instruction of sub-inspector P. Yadgiri Rao.
Venkat Reddy alleged that the SI had taken ₹50,000 from the complainant, Ashok Kumar, two days ago to settle his friend Leela Prabhu’s case. ACB officials recovered ₹20,000 from Venkat Reddy’s pocket.
Venkat Reddy and P. Yadgiri Rao will be arrested and produced before the special judge of the ACB court in the city, an official press release issued by the ACB stated.
