My family wants to kill me': UP woman found dead after predicting murder
An FIR has been filed against six members of the victim's family, all of whom are absconding.
Hathras: A 26-year-old woman from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in her house on Thursday, just days after she recorded a video claiming that her father and brother wanted to kill her.
“My family want to kill me, I want to marry Imran, but my family is taking me away to our village. My father and my brother want to kill me,” says the woman named Soni in the video. The footage seems to have been shot inside the bathroom of a moving train on a mobile camera.
“My life is in danger, if something happens to me, then these people will be responsible for my death,” she adds. Soni lists out names of family members in the video, claiming they want to finish her off.
The Uttar Pradesh saw the video clip that had gone viral on social media, but by the time they reached Soni’s village, she was already dead.
An FIR has been filed against six members of the family, all of whom are absconding.
While Soni’s body has been sent for post-mortem, police said there were no signs of struggle on her body and it’s hard to establish how she died.
Police are trying to trace the man Imran, who she said she wanted to marry in the video. A hunt for her family members has also been launched.
