8 hurt as auto plunges into canal in Warangal
Eight members of the family sustained injuries, while the others escaped unhurt.
WARANGAL: An authorickshaw in which a family of 13 were travelling, nose-dived into a canal on the outskirts of Ghanpur in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district on Thursday. Eight persons from the family were injured, while the remaining escaped unhurt.
According to police, the family members were travelling from Narsapur in Venkatapuram mandal to attend a family function in Bhupalapalli.
On the outskirts of Ghanpur, the front wheel of the autorickshaw came off and the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the auto nose-diving into a canal.
Locals present near the canal rushed to the spot and rescued the family.
Eight members of the family sustained injuries, while the others escaped unhurt. The injured were shifted to the Mulugu government hospital. Sub-inspector Govardhan said that those injured are out of danger.
A case has been registered and the investigation in on. The injured include Mamidi Sravanthi, Bobba Vasantha, Rajamma, Samatha, Suwarna, Likhitha, Chiluveru Swaroopa, Bhadra, Rontela Bhagya.
