HYDERABAD: A street vendor brutally murdered his friend after the latter refused to take him out for a ride. The body of the victim Mohammed Shah Faisal, who was missing from February 12, was found with multiple injuries hidden under a stone in Balapur.

The accused Abdul Jabbar on February 12 along with Faisal went to the former’s house at Minar Colony.

From there both went to an open place. When Faisal asked Jabbar to accompany him on a ride to his relative’s house, he flatly refused. This resulted in a heated argument and Jabbar removed a wooden plank from the road and smashed Faisal’s head with it. After Faisal fell unconscious, Jabbar smashed his head with a boulder and threw the body into the stones and covered it with cement bags and grabbed the victim's mobile phone from his pocket.

Meanwhile, Faisal’s family, after searching for him the entire day, lodged a missing complaint with Balapur police.

Balapur police tracked the victim’s mobile phone that was reactivated with a new SIM by one Syed Shaheed from Chandrayangutta.

On confronting him, Shaheed said that he had purchased the instrument from one Wajahath Ali of Balapur, who disclosed that he had bought it from Jabbar for Rs 7,000 on February 14. Jabbar was arrested from his house in Balapur.

During interrogation Jabbar confessed to the murder. The arrest was coordinated by senior officials D.S. Chauhan and B Bhasker.

The police registered a case of murder against Jabbar and shifted the victim's body for post-mortem.
