The couple, who got married in 2015 and have a son, fought over the same issue over the last couple of months, they said. On Sunday, Pratap came home around midnight. Nalini, who was suspicious of Pratap’s behaviour, questioned him again, which led to the murder, the police said.

Nalini’s father Narasimharaju stated in his complaint that the couple had a love marriage in August 2015 and everything was fine between them. In the recent past, Nalini used to call her father regularly and complain about Pratap’s behaviour. On Saturday too, she called Narasimharaju and told him that Pratap tried to strangle her.
