RMPI worker hacked in Vadakara

KOZHIKODE: An RMPI worker Vishnu, 24, was hacked at Kunnummakkara near Vadakara in the  wee hours of Wednesday.   According to RMPI sources, four people came on two bikes and attacked Vishnu using iron rods and swords. Vishnu, who  suffered injuries on both legs and hands,  was  admitted to government hospital, Vadakara.  The Chombala police has registered a case. Vishnu was  on vacation from Dubai and he had been  reportedly warned by the CPM local leadership earlier for his anti-CPM posts on Facebook.

The RMPI  observed a hartal at  Orkkattery town on Wednesday protesting against the attack.   RMPI leader K.K. Rema blamed the CPM for the incident.  She alleged that the police apathy was  aggravating the situation. Flex boards had been  put up from Vellikulangara to Orkattery as part of the T.P. Chandrasekharan martyr day on May 4.  However,  the  campaign materials of RMPI were  destroyed at  Orkattery and surrounding areas  allegedly by DYFI workers on Tuesday.
