Fake baba nabbed in Hyderabad

Fake babas thrive on the people's weakness for speedy cures, remedy for problems connected with court cases, romance, business isses, family disputes and property.

Hyderabad: Chaderghat police arrested a 32-year-old fake baba for practicing black magic.

Police said the suspect, Mohd Akram, a resident of Malakpet, was an autorickshaw driver but used to spend most of his time falsely promising people that he can solve all their problems, take their money and perform black magic.

“He tells gullible people that he can solve all their problems like domestic issues, health problems, financial woes and other things and takes huge amounts from them,” said inspector G. Sattaiah of Chaderghat.

"We received complaints from many people in the Chaderghat area and nearby places and we arrested the fraudster on Friday morning,” the inspector added.

Chaderghat police booked a case under Section 420 (cheating) and relevant sections of the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act. He will be presented in court.
