Bengaluru: A woman was threatened of rape and murder by her neighbours, who are into construction business, over a property dispute in Ashok Nagar police station limits.

However, to add insult to injury, when she approached the jurisdictional police station the policemen allegedly didn’t take any action on her complaint and instead told her to produce witnesses to the alleged incident.

According to the complainant, the incident took place on Tuesday around 4.30 pm in full public view. Suhasini (name changed), a married woman and a resident of Ashok Nagar, owns an electronics shop that sells laptops, while her neighbours are promoters of a real estate company Shakti Builders.

She told Deccan Chronicle, “There has been an ongoing property dispute with my neighbours. They are builders. Recently, posing as sales tax officers, they threatened the person who had come to deliver a consignment of laptops to her shop and took away invoices.”

She further told the newspaper that when she learnt about the same and went to confront her neighbour, identified as Munithappa (65), his son Chandrashekhar (45) and grandson Sagar (21), ganged-up against her and manhandled her.

“The three not only hurled abuses but also physically assaulted me, and threatened that they would rape me if, I try to raise my voice against them,” added the complainant.

According to the victim, the entire incident took place in full public view and witnessed by her other neighbours. At the time of the incident, Suhasini’s husband had gone for work while her father, who was at home, came to her rescue.

Later, the woman approached the jurisdictional police station and lodged a complaint against the three men.
