Lawless UP: Accused throws acid on rape victim after she refuses to drop case
The woman was raped on August 9 and an FIR was lodged on September 2 after CJM court's order.
Bulandshahr: A 25-year-old rape victim was attacked with acid by the person who allegedly raped her, after she refused to withdraw her case at Masona village here, police said on Monday.
She was attacked last evening by the accused, Surjeet, his brother Paramjeet and Veerpal, SP (City) Mansingh Chauhan said, adding she was admitted to the district hospital where her condition is stated to be stable.
A case has been lodged against the three, all residents of Masona, at the Kotwali (Rural) Police Station, he added.
She was raped by Surjeet on August 9 and an FIR was lodged on September 2 after CJM court's order, the victim's husband said.
Victim’s husband claimed that the police initially accused the woman of levelling false allegations.
“The victim has said that the accused were pressuring her to withdraw the case. When she refused, they poured acid on her, causing burns on her face and neck. No arrests have been made yet,” Bulandshahr SP, Maan Singh Chauhan, said.
