This is the second case of similar suicide and murder involving mother and kids in the district within a week
MALAPPURAM: A 27-year-old woman was found dead with burn injuries and her twin kids strangled to death at her husband’s home in Kuttippuram in the wee hours of Monday. Parithiyil Jaseela was found inside the latrine outside the house and the bodies of her one-and-half-year-old twins Fathima Farsana and Muhammed Farhan in the bed inside their room. The bodies were found by Jaseela’s husband Fasal Rahman around 4 am after he noticed the children who were sleeping in cradles lying in an odd manner. Later he found the body of his wife outside the house, allegedly self-immolated using kerosene. Mr Rahman, a driver, slept in another room and was about to leave on a trip early morning. One of the kids had little signs of breath and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but soon succumbed to death.
After the preliminary probe, the police suspected suicide after murders. “The investigation is on, and we will question family members soon. We are waiting for the autopsy report to confirm the actual cause of deaths,” said K.M Sulaiman, circle inspector of Valancheri. Fingerprint and forensic experts conducted inquest. The bodies were brought home by evening after the autopsy at the Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode and the last rites were held at Kuttippuram Juma Masjid.
