Hyderabad: Excise seizes 150 kilos of ganja, 4 caught
The accused were transporting the contraband in a four-wheeler and a two-wheeler was piloting the vehicle.
Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise team of Medak arrested four persons involved in illegal transportation of ganja and seized 150 kgs contraband worth about 10 lakhs on Wednesday late night. The arrested accused were identified as P. Nikhil, P. Srinivas, P. Satish and Rathod Srikant. According to D. Gayathri, Assistant Prohibition and Excise Superintendent, Medak, during a route-watch at Budhera cross roads NH 65, they found a four-wheeler illegally transporting contraband from Marpally town of Ranga reddy district to Chilapally thanda, Jharasangam mandal, Sangareddy for sale.
The accused were transporting the contraband in a four-wheeler and a two-wheeler was piloting the vehicle. Investigation revealed that a hamlet near Marpally town was being used as a transient point for exchange and the smugglers are distributing the ganja to cities like Hyderabad, Bidar and Mumbai. The police laid a trap, arrested the four accused and a manhunt was launched for two others who were on the run.
