Prakasam district police recovers Rs 11.72 lakhs from 3 offenders
Police recovered property worth Rs 11,72,000, including 168 grams of gold and Rs 4 lakh cash, apart from some tools such as screwdrivers
Nellore: Prakasam district police have nabbed three persons involved in housebreaking cases and recovered property worth Rs 11,72,000, including 168 grams of gold and Rs 4 lakh cash, apart from the tools such as screwdrivers used for the thefts on Tuesday.
The trio were responsible for stealing 140 grams of gold and Rs 7.5 lakh of cash from the house of Dorai Raju at Srinagar colony first lane in Ongole on July 20, 2022.
They have also decamped with a gold chain weighing 28 grams from the house of Kola Mastan Rao at Maddipadu village on November 18, 2018.
Prakasam district SP Malika Garg formed special teams, headed by Ongole Taluk circle inspector Srinivasa Reddy and sub-inspector M. Devakumar and their staff under the continuous monitorship of Ongole DSP Nagaraju.
The police launched a massive search operation using technology adeptly and arrested the accused near Kims Flyover Bridge at 9 am in Ongole on Tuesday and recovered the property pertaining to the two cases.
The accused have been identified as Subid Ali Khan, 45, Jumrati Molla, 29, and Diluwar Laskar, 27. All the three accused are from West Bengal.
According to Malika Garg, the three offenders have no ostensible livelihood and are committing property offences for many years and spending the stolen property lavishly.
They have committed offences in West Bengal, Warangal and Khammam districts of Telangana State. Police sent them to remand on Tuesday.
Malika Garg said it is a practice for the trio to resume thefts every time after returning from the jail.
She appreciated the police teams involved in the investigation for apprehending the offenders.
