MBBS student commits suicide in Hindupur

Anantapur: An MBBS student, the son of a Hindupur Rural inspector, committed suicide at his residence in Hindupur of Satya Sai district on Friday due to mental pressure.

Police said Aryan Surya Chandra, son of inspector Venugopal, had been studying third-year MBBS at Kuppam Medical College in Chittoor district. Two days ago, he came home to Hindupur.

On Friday, Surya attempted suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence. Family members were alerted following the noise in his room. They immediately shifted him to the hospital. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Sources said Surya had been unable to cope with his mental pressure.
