Kakinada: Maternal instincts behind girl's kidnap

Kakinada: Kakinada police resolved the infant kidnap case on Sunday by nabbing a 28-year-old woman Pandu Ramanamma of I. Polavaram. District collector Karthikeya Misra and the superintendent of police Vishal Gunni handed over the infant to her mother Ganta Lakshmi.
According to Mr Gunni, Pandu Ramanamma of G.Mulapolam village in I.Polavaram mandal worked as nurse in a corporate hospital here for six months. She underwent two miscarriages and was deeply pained. Due to strong maternal impulse she decided to kidnap a newborn. Ramanamma has stolen female infant from Government General Hospital three days back and took it to her village.
Police mounted a massive search for the infant by forming 10 teams in and neighbouring districts. District SP lauded Kakinada DSP P.V.R.S.S.S.M.V. Ravi Varma and I Town CI A. Sanyasi Rao and search parties for their good work. He said that due to identification of key evidences, police could solve the case. Appreciating the efforts of police Mr Misra said that security would be beefed up in Kakinada Government General Hospital to avoid such incidents in future.
