Bengaluru: Unidentified burglars broke into the house of late Prof U.R. Rao, a former ISRO chief, on 13th Main in Indiranagar on Tuesday night, but returned empty handed as they could not find any valuables.

The house is empty after the demise of Prof Rao and only the driver stays at the outhouse, the police said.

The probe revealed that the miscreants managed to break open the front door and get into the house. But as they did not find any valuables, they fled the spot.

The driver noticed the front door broken open and alerted Prof Rao’s family members, who rushed to the house and found everything intact.

After the police were alerted, sniffer dog and forensic squads visited the spot and carried out the probe.
