Hyderabad: Man gets 3-year RI for raping girl

Hyderabad: A centring worker, who was booked on the charges of kidnap and rape of a girl at Sanathnagar police station, was convicted and sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment by a court on Monday.
On June 23, 2014, a case of an 18-year-old first year engineering student going missing was registered with the Sanathnagar police. The police traced and rescued the girl.
The girl had told the police that one R. Anil, 24, a centring worker from Hafeezpet, had deceived her on the pretext of love. He had given her a SIM card to talk to him and took her to Medak, where he sexually assaulted her after promising her marriage.
The girl later learned that Anil was already married.
The police then booked Anil on the charges of rape, cheating and kidnap and arrested him.
After investigation, a charge-sheet was filed before the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court at LB Nagar.
On conducting a trial, Judge N. Narsing Rao, on Monday convicted Anil.
