School teacher kidnapped in UP, teachers' body protest

Etah (Uttar Pradesh): A school teacher was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by unidentified persons when he was returning home in Kunjpur Kotwali Sakeet village here, police said.
The accused stopped the victim, Ram Gopal Shakya, who was riding a motorcycle and shoved him into a car at gunpoint in Kunjpur Kotwali Sakeet village yesterday and sped away, police said.
The kidnappers also took away the motorcycle, they said.
An FIR was lodged in the case as per the complaint by Shakya's family members.
Soon after the incident, the family members blocked the route towards village Malawan in protest against the incident.
Expressing concern over the kidnapping, the teachers' organisation of the district have threatened to stage protest.
A delegation of teachers met SSP A K Tripathiand asked him to ensure the release of the kidnapped teacher.
Police teams have been deployed to search for the teacher, Tripathi added.
