Woman allegedly gangraped in moving car in east Delhi

New Delhi: A woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men inside a moving car on Friday night in east Delhi's Anand Vihar.

Police said the incident occurred when she had gone to buy food from an eatery near a shopping mall in the area around 10 pm.

According to her complaint to the police, four men pulled her inside a moving car, raped her in turn and "brutally" assaulted her when she tried to resist.

The accused then dumped her at a secluded stretch near Kakdi Mod in Madhu Vihar. Police have registered a case based on the victim's statement.

"We have identified the accused and the vehicle has also been traced. We are trying to verify the incident and arrests will be made once we record her statement," a senior police officer said.

"When the vehicle stopped in front of her she tried to move away but one of the occupants got down and forcibly pulled her inside," the official added.
