Rajahmundry: Nine women rescued from prostitution

The rescued women were sent for rehabilitation to the Swadhar home in Eluru.

Rajahmundry: As many as 16 men and a woman organiser were arrested and nine women were rescued when police raided a private guest house at Amudalapalli village of Nidamarru mandal in West Godavari in the early hours on Monday.

According to Nidamarru police, based on a tip-off about obscene dances and prostitution by women brought forcibly from Hyderabad at Chinnamurthy Raju guest house on Sunday night, police raided and nabbed the culprits. The rescued women were sent for rehabilitation to the Swadhar home in Eluru. Police booked a case and an investigation is on.
