Chennai: Woman robbed on MTC bus

Chennai: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly robbed of her seven sovereign gold chain while travelling on an MTC bus on Tuesday.

According to police, Suganya (26), a resident of Mugalivakkam, had been on a visit to her friend’s place in Velachery and was returning home on an MTC bus on Tuesday night. Sources said she boarded a bus number 54, at Defense Quarters and when she was in Guindy, she noticed her bag torn and seven sovereigns of gold chain missing. Later, Suganya lodged a complaint at St Thomas Mount police station. Further investigations are on.
