Make institutes accountable for deaths in campus, BJP to govt
HYDERABAD: Finding fault with the state government and holding it responsible for deaths by suicide of many students, BJP leaders demanded the state government to come up with effective initiatives to curb this tendency.
The party’s spokesperson T. Virender Goud said that the state government had failed to maintain law and order, including in the city. The government must constitute committees in all educational institutions to serve as watchdogs and prevent ragging incidents. The government should make heads of departments of educational institutions accountable for every incident that is reported, he said.
BJP ST morcha state president J. Hussain Naik alleged that medical PG student, Dr D. Preethi, died due to the negligence of the government. If the principal and the HoD had responded to her complaint, the issue could have been solved, he said.
