Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police’s Special Operations Team (SOT) busted a cricket betting racket on Sunday. The agents were operating from a residential building in Nagole. Cops have seized over Rs 1.5 lakh from the gang.

The police at LB Nagar Zone received information on the betting gang led by one Raj Kumar. Seven men were arrested in the raid that followed. “There were four agents, two punters and an ‘operator’ who kept track of the accounts using a laptop. The racket was active after the T20 world cup began. The arrested men were handed over to LB Nagar police station,” police said.

The raid was conducted under the direct supervision of  Ramchandra Reddy, an officer on special duty with SOT.
