Odisha: Women blacken lady teacher's face

The police had to intervene in the matter and reason with the irate women; but no case was lodged.

Balasore: A female teacher from the Remuna area of Odisha’s Balasore district was beaten up by local guardians and had her face blackened, on Monday.

The guardians, most of whom were women, barged into Krushnachandra Upper Primary School in Bagaparia and surrounded the teacher. They accused her of mishandling the midday meal commodities that were meant for students.

A verbal duel ensued between the guardians and the teacher. Later, the local women thrashed her and blackened her face in public. The police had to intervene in the matter and reason with the irate women; but no case was lodged.
