Radio Jockey hacked to death in Thiruvananthapuram
Rajesh murdered in front of his studio.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 36-year-old radio jockey was hacked to death in front of his recording studio at Madavoor Junction under Pallickal police station on Tuesday. The police identified him as Rajesh alias Rasikan Rajesh, son of Radhakrishnan and Vasantha of Asha Nivas, Padinjattela, Kilimanoor. The man along with his friend Kuttan, 50, of Vellalloor was loading equipment into to a car when the vehicle carrying assailants started running zigzag near them.
They were gazing at the red hatchback when masked assailants jumped out and hacked both of them around 1.45 am. A bleeding Kuttan managed to run away, but Rajesh was pinned down. He ran for few kilometres and knocked the doors of several houses for help, but none gave him asylum. Finally, he got help from a known person who alerted the police and rushed to the studio. By, the time police arrived and took Rajesh to a hospital at Parippally where he was declared dead. Kuttan is recuperating at Medical College Hospital (MCH).
Rajesh was an RJ with Big FM and had worked with Voice of Kerala FM station in Qatar for two years. On his return, he joined mimicry and folks song troupes and started the Metras Media and Communications. He had just returned from a programme and finished his meal. He was urgently wrapping up some studio works as he had to head to Chennai the next day. Attingal deputy superintendent of police is leading the investigation. They suspect personal issues behind the murder. He leaves his wife, Rohini, and son, Arjun. The body was handed over to relatives after an autopsy.
