Eight inspectors, two Assistant Commissioners shunted out of N Chennai

At least 7 murders have taken place in public places in north Chennai in the last two months.

Chennai: Following the spurt in the number of murders in public place in north Chennai, the city police on Monday transferred out two Assistant Commissioners and the police Inspectors from eight police stations and brought in new Inspectors. At least 7 murders have taken place in public places in north Chennai in the last two months. The Assistant commissioners of Washermenpet and Thiruvotriyur were also transferred out and K Ananda Kumar of PEW and N Kumar from Thuraiappkam had been asked to take charge as assistant commissioners of Washermenpet and Thiruvotriyur respectively.  

All the law and order inspectors who were moved out are asked be in control room vacancy reserve list. They are S Chellappa of R K Nagar, P Asokan of Tondiarpet, M Kasiappan of Washermenpet, S Janakiraman of Korukkupet, V Ragupathi of Royapuram, D Venkatesan of Kasimedu, G Kannan of Fishing Harbour and G Selvakumar of Kodungaiyur. The City police commissioner, T K Rajendran posted T Veerakumar from CCB as the new inspector of RK Nagar. Balakrishna Prabhu of Foreshore Estate will be the new inspector in Tondiarpet, while P Jawahar from Thiruvanmiyur has been asked to take charge in Washermenpet. Amal Stanley Anand had been moved from Madhavaram to Korukkupet while S Mohanraj of Harbour shifted and posted in Royapuram. Abraham Cruz Durairaj from CCB will be the new inspector in Kasimedu station while S Saravan Prabhu, prohibition enforcement wing in Anna Nagar has been posted as new inspector of Fishing Harbour. C Rathinavel Pandian, from CCB has been posted as new inspector of Kodungaiyur police station.
