Two men held for robbery
The suspects had escaped with 80 gram gold.
Hyderabad: Medchal police arrested two people, who drugged and robbed their house owners last month. The suspects had mixed sleeping pills in cool drinks and gave it to their house owners after they took a room for rent. The suspects had escaped with 80 gram gold.
The police is now searching for two women suspects, who are absconding. The arrested people are G. Venkatesh, hailing from Guntur and E. Balaiah, belonging to Nalgonda. Venkatesh’s wife Divya and mother Thirupathamma are absconding. Medchal police said that on June 28 the suspects robbed a house in the Pudur village of Medical.
The suspects came to live in the house of Ramulamma a week before the robbery and took a portion of their house for rent. During their stay, they gained the confidence of Ramulamma and used to offer her toddy. "They gave toddy to the victim and soft drinks to her daughter-in-law Neeraja. They had mixed sleeping pills in the drinks before handing them over. Once Ramu-lamma and Neeraja slept, the suspects took their ornaments and fled," said a police officer from Medchal police station.
