Two women thieves held; 28 cases solved

Bengaluru: The RMC Yard police have arrested two interstate women robbers who stole valuables from women passengers in BMTC buses. The police have recovered gold valuables worth Rs 35 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Lakshmi Devi alias Vani and Meenakshi alias Meena, both aged around 30, and are residents of Byappanahalli. They hail from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the police, they used to travel all over city in BMTC busses and steal valuables from passengers. With their arrests, the police have cracked 28 cases which were reported in different police stations in the city.
The police said they used to travel in buses during peak hours and after identifying their target, mostly lone woman, holding their bag or wallet, the two would stand next to them and steal valuables.
The RMC Yard police have registered a case and have produced them before a court.
