Student tries to alight from running bus, run over in Hyderabad

Police said Dhanunjay, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was visiting a relatives at Attapur for vacation.

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old student was run over by an RTC bus he tried to alight while it was still in motion in Banjara Hills on Saturday.

Police said Dhanunjay, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was visiting a relatives at Attapur for vacation.

On Saturday morning, he and his cousin Shiva Kumar were going to Banjara Hills to meet friends and boarded a city bus at Mehdipatnam.

When the bus reached Banjara Hills, Shiva Kumar got down. “But Dhanunjay’s shirt got struck to a rod and he fell and came under the rear tyre of the bus,” sub-inspector Krishnaiah said.
