The police said that Manja, a rowdysheeter in Madanayakanahalli station, had a financial dispute with a friend, who is said to be a rowdy in Yeshwanthpur.

The duo was allegedly fighting over the issue for the last few months, and the friend decided to teach Manja a lesson.

“Around 1 am on Monday, three people came in an autorickshaw near Manja’s house and set fire to some material and threw it inside the compound and escaped. Some neighbours, who saw the fire, rushed and doused it. Two of Manja’s family members were in the house when the incident occurred. We suspect Mani, Swami and others behind the incident.
