Telangana: CCTVs help cops solve theft case, Rs 1.24 crore recovered

A cook and his associates were arrested by the Narayanguda police on Sunday night for robbing three men from Mysore. The entire amount of Rs 1.24 crore was recovered from them.

Hyderabad: A cook and his associates were arrested by the Narayanguda police on Sunday night for robbing three men from Mysore. The entire amount of Rs 1.24 crore was recovered from them. The suspects Pinjrala Srihari Yadav, 38, Pinjarala Kunal Yadav, 19, Nanalal Kumavath alias Nanu, 19, Jamakayala Parmesh, 32, and Pinjrala Kushal Yadav, 21, were identified using CCTV camera footage.

M.H. Rajendra, a gold merchant from Mysore, sent three employees to the city with Rs 1.24 crore in cash to meet an associate of his at a flat in Skyline Apartments in Narayanaguda on Saturday night and purchase gold from him. V.V. Srinivasa Rao, the Hyderabad Police Commi-ssioner, said, “The trio came to a flat on the second floor of Skyline Apartments. Nanalal Kumavath, who works as a cook in that flat, saw that they were carrying cash and informed Srihari, the owner of a nearby kirana shop, abo-ut it. With the help of few others they hatched an im-promptu plan to rob them.”

Meanwhile, the three employees were instructed by their employer to leave the apartment because they were not getting the gold at the desired rate. “When they were leaving, Srihari and Kunal Yadav went to the second floor and waited near the lift. They entered the lift along with the three employees and began threatening them. They then stopped the lift and took the employees to the cellar where they attacked them and fled with cash on a bike. They changed their clothes within half-a-kilometre to divert the poli-ce’s attention,” said Mr Rao.

The Narayanguda police booked a case based on a complaint filed by one of the employees, on Sunday. With the help of CCTV footage the case was solved within six hours of the complaint being filed, and the entire amount was recovered.
