Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police arrested an associate of slain gangster Nayeem and seized documents from him. N Sridhar Goud, 37, a resident of Hayathnagar, was involved in eight extortion and kidnapping cases in Vanasthalipuram, Bhongir and Yadagirigutta police stations.

“He was an active member of Nayeem’s gang. He threatened landlords and realtors, including the businessmen in land settlement issues,” Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said.

Sridhar was earlier  arrested in August in a case registered in Vanasthalipuram police station.

Land documents and  around Rs 39 lakh related to extortion and kidnapping cases were also recovered from him. In addition to this, 22 live rounds and incriminating material were also seized from his possession. He will be detained   under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act.

In another incident, Police arrested a person for his involvement in burglary cases and seized 33 tolas of gold ornaments, two kilo of silver ornaments, one Car and a 36-inch LED colour television.

Police said, Mohammed Mehaboob Pasha alias Syed Mehamoob Pasha alias Pasha (34) a resident of Krishna Nagar in Jubilee Hills and was involved in 39 cases across the city and in Mahabubnagar district.
