Rachakonda traffic police earned Rs13.84 cr. in fines

Hyderabad: Rachakonda traffic police booked 22,27,039 cases in 2021, which earned a revenue of Rs 13.84 crore by way of fines.

Meanwhile, officials have identified 45 black spots in the commissionerate and rectified 39 of them, said its police commissioner, Mahesh Bhagwat, here on Monday. 

Approximately, 2,615 accidents were reported during the year, including 602 fatal incidents. 

Most cases were for not wearing a helmet, which amounted to 15,33,183 cases, followed by 1,10,225 cases of driving on the wrong side and 72,319 cases for over-speeding.  Under drunken driving, around 580 individuals were jailed and a fine of Rs 2,02,72,887 was levied on the violators.

 Without seat belt - 10,777

Driving without licence - 43,645

Triple-riding - 26,072 

Driving in no entry zone- 37,764

Cell-phone driving - 5,788

Signal-jumping - 12,655

Extra projection - 23,817
