Kurnool DEO Faces SC-ST Atrocities Charges

Kurnool: The Kurnool district education officer (DEO), Dr K. Ranga Reddy, has been charged under the SC and ST Atrocities Act by the Third Town Police following a complaint filed by Satish Kumar, a suspended teacher from Nandyal district. According to circle inspector Muralidhar Reddy, the case was registered based on Satish Kumar's complaint.

Satish Kumar, who had previously served in the army and took voluntary retirement, secured a job as a Hindi teacher through DSC in 2008. He was employed in Kokkarachedu of Halaharvi mandal and reported during the Spandana programme in the collectorate that he had not received his salary for a period of 10 months.

Subsequently, a case was filed after the DEO, who was present during the complaint, alleged that he had been assaulted. CI Muralidhar Reddy said that they would conduct a proper investigation into the matter.
