Boddula Srinivas murder case: Lakshmi seeks CBI probe, alleges inaction
She alleged that the police did not take any action against the MLA and did not conduct a proper investigation.
Hyderabad: Ms Lakshmi, Nalgonda chairperson and wife of senior deceased Congress leader Boddula Srinivas, demanded a CBI inquiry into the brutal murder of her husband in Nalgonda on Wednesday midnight. She alleged that the role of TRS MLA Vemula Veeresham is suspected and the pictures of the MLA with the arrested persons were also found.
She alleged that the police did not take any action against the MLA and did not conduct a proper investigation. Lakshmi stated that the police was unfair. When Srinivas did not return home, she had rushed to the police station.
“There was no response from the police for more than half an hour. Had they acted immediately, the situation would have been different and my husband would have been alive,” she said.
She demanded a detailed inquiry into the murder and warned of a fast unto death if she did not get justice. “I will go to any extent to get justice,” she said. Meanwhile, Congress leaders blamed the police and sought an analysis of the call data records of the suspects which will bring out more facts behind the murder.
Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal said that it was a pre-planned murder. “The entire investigation is around what happened at the murder spot, but nothing has been said about what led to the argument and what made them call Srinivas at late night. There are so many unanswered questions,” said Rajagopal.
