Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police arrested a 26-year-old Guntur-based teacher and a student on Monday for allegedly stealing six iPhones from courier boys.

Police said the duo targeted delivery boys who would leave their bags on bikes while going in to deliver a product. Police said the value of the seized phones was around Rs 4.32 lakh.

DCP A. Venkateshwar Rao said the accused B. Durga Pavan, 26, who is a teacher school and M. Saitejaswi 24, a degree student are residents of Yellareddyguda. They met three months ago and hatched a plan to rob couriers.

“They targeted a DTDC delivery executive on March 3, when he parked his bike near Lal Bungalow. They fled with his parcel bag containing an iPhone,” the DCP said.

After complaints, police nabbed Pavan and Tejaswi on Monday, and recovered six iPhones.
