Hyderabad: A deputy jailor rank officer in the prisons and correctional services department has allegedly played fraud with a woman and her family to perform his brother’s marriage, 12 years back.

The prison official, Sattu Parshuramulu, allegedly concealed the truth about the first marriage of his younger brother Sattu Saidulu and lured the family of A. Raju.

Saidulu married Raju’s daughter Sattu Parvathamma on December 10, 2010. After the marriage, the couple started living in the outskirts of the city. It was there that the wife was subject to severe hardships as Saidulu was an alcoholic.  The addiction claimed his life on October 1, 2019.

Following his death, Parvathamma approached Nalgonda tahsildar for a family member certificate. It was then that Parshuramulu’s true colours came to light.

He allegedly pressurised Parvathamma to have a live-in relationship with him, promising to take care of all her needs apart from not interfering with the process of mutation of one acre land and house on her name, standing in the name of Saidulu.

“When I refused to oblige, Parshuramulu one day brought one Sattu Pavani of Nalgonda district, and said she was Saidulu’s first wife. He deceived me and my parents by not revealing that his brother was already married”, Parvathamma said.

“Now, he is threatening me against staking a claim for the property of my late husband. I am not even allowed to cultivate. Instead, he offered me Rs 7 lakh if I give up my claim on the property,” she said.

When contacted, Parshuramulu denied the allegations.
