Jubilee HIlls gang rape: Juvenile Board begins MLA's son's trial
Hyderabad: The Juvenile Justice Board, Hyderabad, began the trial in the Jubilee Hills gang rape case of May 2022 in connection with the case of a juvenile in conflict with the law (JCL), an MIM MLA's son who is one of the six accused in the case.
The board has recorded the statements of the victim, who was then 17, and her father, following which counsel appearing for the MLA’s son presented his arguments and cross-examined the victim and her father for about two hours on Tuesday.
Counsel asked the girl and her father in connection with her association with the JCL, how they met and also about the gang rape. The JJB recorded the depositions.
The board has directed that four other JCLs be tried as adults, which they have challenged in court. Their case, along with that of another accused, Saduddin Malik, is before the special court for POCSO cases. The trial is yet to begin in their case.
