Chennai: 30-year-old kills wife suspecting her fidelity

Chennai: A 30-year-old man on Tuesday stabbed his wife to death and later committed suicide by hanging himself suspecting her fidelity.

The incident happened on the wee hours of Tuesday at Thirupathur in Vellore under Kurishilapattu police limits. The deceased were identified as Murugan( 30) and his wife Chinnapapa( 28).

According to police, the gruesome incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the neighbours noticed the body of Murugan hanging from the ceiling.

Upon opening the door, they found Chinnapapa’s in a pool of blood in the bedroom. As per the information gathered by the police, relatives and others, Murugan suspected that his wife had an extramarital affair.

“The relatives told us that the couple used to quarrel over the issue. Murugan killed his wife by stabbing her and later hanged himself to death. We are investigating the case from all angles by collecting details from the family members,” said the police.

A case of suspicious death has been registered by the Kurishilapattu police and the investigation is on. The couple lived with an eight-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son.
