Lounge in Jubilee Hills displays exotic animals, cops take note
HYDERABAD: The Jubilee Hills police are probing into allegations of exotic wildlife species being put on display at the Xora Bar & Kitchen, an eatery located on Road No. 36 of Jubilee Hills, after a Twitter user lodged a complaint with the police, along with some pictures, on Monday.
In a post, user Ashish Chowdhury said: “Xora night club put up exotic wildlife display in their premises over this weekend. The stories were up on their instagram page. Please do the needful (sic).”
Alerted by the message, the Jubilee Hills police conducted an initial probe and said that prima facie, the organisers of the establishment had put up the animals for display on Sunday.
Organisers told the police that they displayed the animals for an hour and that they procured them from a person in Old City. The police found that the same person previously supplied the animals to another pub in the Cyberabad commissionerate area, following which Xora also decided to do the same.
Jubilee Hills police station house officer S. Rajasekhar Reddy said that they will inform the forest department about the incident and they will also explore legal options, if any, available to take action on the pub.
