Techie robbed of gold chain in Kothapet

 Hyderabad: A techie was robbed by two unidentified men in Chaitanyapuri in the wee hours of Sunday.

Linga Saiprasad, 25, and his friend Pavan, after completing their nightshift, had ordered breakfast at a tiffin centre in Chaitanyapuri and were waiting for the food to be delivered, police said.

Two unidentified persons, who were observing Saiprasad from a distance, rushed towards him and snatched Saiprasad's four tolas of gold chain and fled the spot, the police said.

Saiprasad and Pavan tried to overpower them but the snatchers managed to flee into a nearby narrow lane connecting LB Nagar, police said. Saiprasad and Pavan made a call to the Police Control Room. Chaitanyapuri police have registered a case under Section 392 of the IPC and are investigating. Police suspect that the accused possibly have a criminal history and are going through crime records of habitual offenders.
