Bengaluru: Man sets himself ablaze, critical

The police said that he got married 10 years ago and has a nine-year-old son.

Bengaluru: A 39-year-old man sustained injuries after he attempted to immolate himself over a domestic row, in Rajagopalanagar police station limits on Wednesday night. Police said the injured has been identified as Nagaraj, a resident of Sanjeevininagar and employed as a mechanical operator in a private company. He sustained more than 90% burn injuries and is said to be in critical condition.

The police said that he got married 10 years ago and has a nine-year-old son. He and his wife, Lalitha, a garment factory employee, got separated a year ago.

According to the police, around 8 pm, he went to his wife’s house in Sanjivininagar and picked up a fight. He tried to threaten her by pouring kerosene on himself, but accidentally set himself ablaze.

Hearing his screams, the neighbours came to his aid and immediately rushed him to Victoria Hospital.

Breakthrough
The police achieved a breakthrough in the Koramangala shootout case by arresting a few people on Thursday. The incident took place on June 2 in Koramangala police limits.

Three people had barged into the office of Kanhaiyalal Agarwal (54), CEO of Kanhaiyalal & Co and a resident of Koramangala, Third Block, and opened fire at him. He had suffered a minor head injury.
