Hyderabad: Man says mom humiliated family, strangulates her
Members started demanding back their money which led to frequent disputes.
Hyderabad: A 23-year-old murdered his mother at their residence in SR Nagar, alleging that her failed business had humiliated the family. The woman, identified as G. Mamatha, was staying with her brother after a loss in her chit fund business.
Her son, Madan Yadav came home on Wednesday night and took her back home in Ambedkarnagar, under the pretext of sorting things out and throttled her to death early on Thursday morning. According to the police, Mamatha, started a chit business which ended up in losses. Members started demanding back their money which led to frequent disputes.
Vexed over this, Mamatha was staying away from her home in her elder brother’s house in Kothapet, police said. On Wednesday night, Madan went there and brought her back. “He took her to the terrace and was angry that her deeds were defaming their family. He attacked her on the head with a blunt object and throttled her,” said the Police Inspector of SR Nagar, Mohd Waheeduddin.
“She wanted to make him an actor and helped him clear his debts,” said Raju Yadav, Mamatha’s younger brother. “She called me on Wednesday night and told me that Madan had come to take her home and sounded happy,” he said.
Mamatha’s sister, Madhavi said that her husband and son never treated her well. “Her two daughters are married and stay with their families. Madan is an intermediate drop-out and was constantly harassing her over the loss in the business, amounting to Rs 25 lakh,” she said. “The murder was planned as the father and son deactivated their social media accounts, to flee,” added Mr Yadav. SR Nagar Police booked a case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC and placed Madan into custody.
